    • Scion
      Managed the financial, administrative, strategic and science operations of a matrixed team of 30 staff in pulp, paper and packaging research with a budget of NZ$4 million. Ensured successful achievement of target profitability, science quality and relevance to the technical needs of industry.
    • Ensis Papro/ Papro
      Managed and provided scientific leadership to a multi-functional team of 12 researchers in a NZ$1.3 million research program to develop improved chemical technologies for fibre production and utilization. Technical responsibilities for pulping and bleaching research.
    • Forest Research Institute
      Performed pulping and bleaching research with particular emphasis on the use of oxygen-based chemicals in the manufacture of mechanical and chemical pulps from radiata pine.
